WCE hosted an engaging and informative session, Giving Effective Presentations, led by Neila Scott.
During the session, participants learned:
- The art of body language and how it can enhance a message
- Vocal variety techniques to keep an audience engaged
- Strategies for getting to the point and maintaining clarity
- The essential structure of a compelling presentation
- How to read an audience and adapt an approach
- The importance of using appropriate language to clearly convey ideas
Neila Scott has been a Toastmaster since 2007 and became a Distinguished Toastmaster in 2013, the highest award given by Toastmasters. As a leader within the organization, she has started two clubs, served as a Division Director, and twice as an Area Director. At the time of the workshop, she was the President of the Blue Heron Toastmasters Club in Pitt Meadows.
