
WCE Vancouver is pleased to host this year’s Virtual Mentorship Mixer, bringing together women and gender-diverse professionals in engineering for an evening of meaningful conversation, shared learning, and connection.
Designed to reflect WCE’s popular in-person mixers, this virtual format offers an accessible and engaging experience, allowing participants to join from anywhere.
The event is structured to balance both breadth and depth of conversation. Participants will select a discussion topic of interest and join a breakout room for Round 1, followed by a one-time rotation into a second topic. Rounds 2 and 3 will continue within that same group, creating space for deeper dialogue and stronger connections.
Mentors will rotate between rooms each round, offering a range of perspectives while maintaining continuity in the discussions. Sessions will be supported by focused prompts, brief introductions, and short resets between rounds to keep conversations engaging and flowing.

Dhilvinder Kaur
Senior Manager, Capital Projects Delivery | BC Pavilion Corporation (BC PavCo)
Dhilvinder is the Senior Manager, Capital Projects Delivery at BC Pavilion Corporation (BC PavCo), the entity responsible for Vancouver’s landmark venues, BC Place Stadium and the Vancouver Convention Centre. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering from UC San Diego and a Master of Civil Engineering – Structures from the University of Delaware. With over a decade of experience in structural engineering and project management, Dhilvinder has led projects across diverse sectors, including bridge and building infrastructure, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and marine terminals. In her role, she is dedicated to ensuring the PavCo Capital Projects team surpasses expectations by delivering projects that drive significant economic and community benefits for British Columbia. Currently, Dhilvinder is leading the Capital Projects team on the BC Place Stadium infrastructure upgrades for FIFA 2026.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Dhilvinder is a devoted mother to a toddler and enjoys exploring the natural beauty of British Columbia with her family.

Jessica Baxter
Onsite Engineering Ltd. | ASTTBC
Jessica has been working in the infrastructure and land development industry since 2006; mostly working in groundwater consulting, civil design, and land development projects for the last 20 years. She earned a Building Technology diploma at Thomspon Rivers University, works full time in a leadership position for a small engineering firm, as well as performing duties as a Registrant Director on the Board for The Applied Scientists Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia.
Karen Hincks
Principal Engineering Geoscientist | WSP
Karen is the principal Engineering Geologist at WSP. She was born and raised in Maple Ridge, BC. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Applied Environmental Geology from the University of Calgary. After working for a year as a contaminant hydrogeologist for a year, she then moved to Edmonton to complete her Master of Science in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Alberta. Her Master’s was completed as a joint degree between the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering, with courses in Engineering Geology and Rock Mechanics. As a result, Karen fell in love with the interface and integration between geological sciences and geotechnical engineering. Following completion of her master’s, she gained more experience working as a contaminant hydrogeologist prior to working in Amec’s (now WSP) geotechnical engineering group as a principal engineering geologist.


Katie Burau
Senior Project Manager | Allnorth Consultants Limited
With 20 years of experience in business and project management, Katie Burau has spent the past 16 years in the Mining, Minerals, and Metals sector, focused on delivering innovative and forward-thinking solutions to industry challenges. Passionate about creating meaningful connections and high-performing, diverse teams, Ms. Burau has a keen interest in understanding the challenges of the various stakeholders and facilitating continuous improvement at every stage of the mine lifecycle. Dedicated to advancing sustainable development across sectors and geographies while mindful of environmental impact, Ms. Burau focuses on delivering fit-for-purpose solutions for her clients. Active in the mining community, Ms. Burau is an active member of the CIM’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Committee, and has previously been an executive director on the CIM Sudbury board of directors, past co-chair of CIM’s MEMO conference, past co-chair of the Women in Science and Engineering Olympics, former board advisor Women in Mining Sudbury, former Provincial Advisory Committee member for the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce, and co-founder of Young Miners of SME Arizona.
Kelsey Baker
Project Manager | Stantec
Kelsey Baker is an environmental engineer and project manager in the Site Investigation and Remediation team at Stantec. She is the provincial lead for a major downstream oil and gas portfolio and the spill response initial deliverable coordinator for western Canada. Kelsey has worked on a variety of investigation, remediation, and spill response projects across western Canada and specializes in communicating technical subject matter to a variety of audiences. She is passionate about mentoring and believes that advocating for the advancement of women in engineering is critical for empowering change.


Natasha Cvenkel
Project Engineer | Urban Systems Ltd.
Natasha is a Civil Engineer with over 10 years of experience. She graduated in 2015 from the UNBC/UBC Environmental Engineering program. She has been with Urban Systems Ltd for three years and has worked in a wide variety of roles. Natasha’s area of practice is focused on working with First Nations communities and municipalities in the Fraser Valley with a technical focus in water and wastewater. In addition to acting as Engineer of Record on projects of this nature, Natasha is passionate about walking along side the communities she works with to understand and support in advancing their visions and priorities.
Rebecca Stubs
Senior Consultant | Mott MacDonald
Rebecca is a creative and outcome focussed technical advisor who seeks to empower others in the pursuit of bold action on climate change. She is currently supporting various clients with carbon mitigation advisory alongside broader sustainability across a range of project types, including specific building and infrastructure projects and programmes, as well as broader policy and standards development. Rebecca has a passion to be an integrator across the built environment, to coordinate ambitions and performance standards across disciplines as well as multiple stakeholder groups.


Royata Sidibe
Project Engineer / Project Manager | Integrated Sustainability
Royata Sidibe, P.Eng., is a Project Engineer specializing in the design and optimization of potable water, wastewater, and mine water treatment systems. Her work focuses on treatment process design, regulatory compliance, and utility engineering, delivering reliable and sustainable water infrastructure solutions. She has also collaborated with First Nations communities to support improved access to safe and resilient water systems.
As a mentor, she is committed to supporting emerging professionals in developing strong technical expertise while promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable water management.
Tamsin Silvester, ChPP RPP (UK)
Program Director | WSP
Tamsin is the Vice President of WSP’s Rail & Transit team in Western Canada, with over 25 years of experience in technical, professional and engineering management roles. She is an accomplished and multi-disciplined leader and has been responsible for leading design, technical, financial, and program management for projects with a wide variety of values, forms of contract, nature and scope of work. Starting her career in the UK, Tamsin transferred to WSP Canada in 2016, where she has worked as the Design Manager for the Edmonton Metro NW LRT, the WSP Pursuit Lead for the Broadway Subway Project proposal, Project Manager for Additional Works and Systems Integration for the OnTrack Alliance Union Station Expansion Project in Toronto and she is currently Pursuit Lead for Calgary Green Line LRT, a Progressive Collaborative procurement model. In these roles, she led collaborative multi-disciplinary teams, liaising and coordinating between many different parties, including internal departments, external consultants, clients, Joint Venture contractors, local municipalities and other stakeholders.
